From 2016 to 2020 our group hosted the Biological Heritage National Science Challange project “high tech solutions to invasive mammal pests“. This project brought together scientists and institutions across New Zealand in collaboration to provide end-users with the tools and deployment strategies needed to eliminate small mammal pests across natural and production system through a national partnership that ensured all hurdles to application are recognised and addressed.

Research in the project led by collaborating partners included genetic suppression tools, species-specific toxins, genome sequencing, lures, biosensors, strategy, indigenous perspectives and bioethics.
